There are stories in the space between everything and the unseen. Can you read the signs? There are moments in the space between breathing and living where the truth will hide. Between a dark room and a living sky, Sanai is beckoned to face the light, the patterns cycled, deeply inside, an ease shifted the night. A confidence erupted as she became a conduit to create constant change. We’re all players in this marvelous game.

Slight breeze

Sweet whispers

Swaying trees Song birds

Wind chimes

Calm hearts

Clear minds days like these give me ease

they help me realize what i’m meant to see

they help me see the beauty in things

and how grateful my heart’s supposed to be sometimes I lose track of time

and miss the beauty of my life from now on, my eyes will be as open and honest as the sea “

It ate me up inside.

The pain that would reside in the smallest crevice of my mind.

The pain that likes to hide and runs away,

afraid to face the actions of my mind. What

happened that was so painful that I had to decide only one of two things are right: not remembering or not caring? And which one could be so daring to face me in a match of my own demise?

Tears for the world is all I see.

Tears for the world who hates me.

Brown skin, dark eyes, someone I hardly recognize.

It’s me though, despite all the hardships

the looking glass never lies.

My eyes used to shine,

the world seemed so peaceful.

Yet I’ve awoken and the worlds truths hunt me.

They’ve made me question everything I’ve ever known.

They’ve even made me question me.

Traitorous mind constantly stuck in the cycle of lies.

unenergized by the feelings left behind

I ignore the chore that is my bargaining burdens

Blinded by the blight that would have been my purpose

What did I do to deserve this drafty misery?

The pain protected my anxiety, starving the light in me.

As real as can be, just like the trauma. My mind won’t mesh

It’s between fear and peacefulness.

My scared soul will reveal the pearls of the sea.

Turning parasites into pretty possibilities.

I didn’t want to be seen, fear a big part of my being, blinded by the faults,

Wanting to stay asleep, hiding from accepting my reality.

Ashamed that my journeys not the same as the majority, working towards my GED, before the head injury’s school was my sanctuary, now thought of crowded halls makes it seem so scary, years in isolation struggling with social anxiety, if I’m in a crowded place fill with smells and loud scenery. I stretched to peel the loose skin around my fingertips.

Hunched over with headphones, trying to recenter my awareness.

I’m tempted to try to teleport to my new reality!

Jesus, guide me

Memory strong, reliving the chorus of my least favorite song over and over and over again.

Watery Wallows- painting finished 7-22-26| oil on cavas 16×20| Sanai Reign

I stand at the watery wallows wishing the shallow waves wouldn’t rise to my face. Too close to the tide, laying seaside where the waters preside. I could drown if I go too deep, I could survive if I kick my feet. Don’t risk drowning. Don’t be enamored by the sea. I hide seashore so I won’t be a surprised by the watery grandeur. If I see how the pearls are made I might not want to stay in the shade. If I see how parasites transform, I wouldn’t mind forgoing warmth for the cold of the sea. I would confront the emotions completely.
