See Beyond
yea my body may be that of boulders burrowing through a barren path,
feet inching steadily where the masses sit to laugh
yea my body sires signs silken specs
on storied thighs. this ache, a burrowed
pain, a tired sigh, a muffled mastery.
this feeling is a symmetry a symptom of their his-story, the reason why our joy must be a mystery.
few can understand a roux or remedy as remarkable as the recipe of radical reciprocity.
we the people we’re not “equal” so we are equipped in everything.
partying and praising and protesting, we were in public and in private piling resources realigning our time for a renewal of spirit.
we are pioneers and prisoners. we are poets were panicking, we are in peace and over policed over and over.
they ask us why our joy isn’t stuck between the seams.
yet shows up as apparent, loud, proud and being seen.
they ask us why we pray so loudly while we dance so freely,
our souls can grow around this mold
why we don’t deteriorate because of the hate
why we don’t fall off the bone when they try to blister us with their bigotry.
it’s because while they built their history, we built the buildings to guard that mystery.
we wiped the tears of the mothers who birthed empires.
we sowed the seeds that immortalized our artistry
why they terrorize us with greed and hate beyond all meaning we worshiped in secrecy,
we married and laughed and lived and grew.
this is what it’s like to live within the dark.
we forever are the spark flickering.. firing fighting earnestly to guide us on our way.
bridging beyond the darkness into futures day.
